Website

Based on the 1955 novel Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita, My Love, which originally closed in Boston in 1971, closely follows the legendary novel: A college professor named Humbert Humbert becomes fascinated by and starts to seduce his landlady's young daughter, Dolores 'Lolita' Haze. The fascination quickly turns into obsession, and soon a whirlwind race across the US begins. For this Mufti presentation, Erik Haagensen (Darling of the Day and The Day Before Spring in Mufti) has edited together a new script from Lerner's assorted drafts, each vastly different from the others. Haagensen said, “Now audiences will have a chance to hear Lolita, My Love on stage and decide for themselves what they think of this unquestionably daring musical that begins as a black comedy and ends in tragedy.” Vladimir Nabokov himself said, “Mr. Lerner is most talented and an excellent classicist. If you have to make a musical of 'Lolita', he is the man to do it.”

11 PERFORMANCES ONLY!
Saturday at 2:30 and 8 p.m. • Sunday, at 2:30 and 7 p.m. (first weekend of each Mufti only) • Wednesday at 7 p.m. • Thursday at 2:30 & 7 p.m. • Friday at 8 p.m.

JOHNBARRY the mono years

A three CD box set released in association with Geoff Leonard, biographer and world authority on the life and work of the great British film composer, John Barry.

“If you think in terms of the sixties as a revolution in England, it was music-led. The Beatles led the rock ‘n’ roll and John Barry led the movie music.” MICHAEL CAINE

“John’s got this facility of writing a tune, a very simple tune and that’s the most difficult one to write of all. The one that you think you must have heard somewhere before but you haven’t and he’s got the gift. It’s quite hard to write a simple tune. It’s quite easy to write a complicated one.” GEORGE MARTIN

A three CD box set released in association with Geoff Leonard, biographer and world authority on the life and work of the great British film composer, John Barry.

The edition includes every single John Barry Seven A & B side published between 1957 and 1962 in true mono housed together under one roof for the very first time. A unique opportunity to listen to these seminal recordings as they were originally heard.

The first bona fide CD appearance of the “Stringbeat” LP in mono, together with various singles also making their mono debuts on CD.

A chronological audio history of the group combined with authoritative booklet notes and rare period photos/images.

The inclusion of impossible rarities, including the debut CD release of the original version of ‘Three Little Fishes’ plus many sought-after Chappell Music Library recordings.

lone rangercd02"After years of exhaustive searches for session masters proved unsuccessful, Intrada worked with ITV and current soundtrack license holder UMG to finally premiere the rare 1981 album in CD format, working from pristine copies of the album itself (even these masters remain AWOL) and utilizing state-of-the-art NoNoise technology that addressed all surface noise without sacrificing any vivid dynamics of the original score, which was recorded in France under Barry’s direction.

Though the album is admittedly brief, it remains a sensational listening experience! Flipper-style booklet cover features original MCA album artwork plus alternate campaign with liner notes by John Barry authority, Jon Burlingame. CD produced by Douglass Fake, Roger Feigelson performs executive producer chores. Dan Wallin records and mixes, John Barry composes and conducts. Intrada Special Collection CD available while quantities and interest remain!"
