recording for EMI&#8217;s Parlophone and Columbia labels at Abbey Road.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-top is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Radio, TV, Film &amp; careers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>View details of scores of radio shows such as <em>Saturday Club<\/em> &amp; <em>Easy Beat<\/em>, and many TV appearances, including <em>Six-Five Special, Oh Boy!<\/em>, <em>Sunday Night at the London Palladium, The Royal Variety Show, Thank Your Lucky Stars<\/em>, and the lengthy BBC TV series, <em>Drumbeat<\/em>, which was the band&#8217;s biggest break and played a huge part in the futures of <strong>Adam Faith<\/strong> and <strong>Johnny Worth<\/strong>, largely via <strong>John Barry<\/strong>, <strong>Les Reed<\/strong> and the <strong>JB7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The authors take a look at the <strong>JB7<\/strong>\u2019s appearances in the films <em>Six-Five Special<\/em>, <em>A Matter of WHO<\/em>, <em>The Cool Mikado<\/em> and the TV film, <em>Girl on a Roof<\/em>, aided by comments from those members who took part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We explain how the success of the band led directly to the international careers of <strong>John Barry<\/strong> &amp; He spent much of his working career in banking but became an independent record producer in the early nineties, specialising in the works of John Barry and British TV theme compilations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also wrote liner notes for many soundtrack albums, including those by John Barry, Roy Budd, Ron Grainer, Maurice Jarre and Johnny Harris, plus a particularly excellent one for an Adam Faith double CD, which was praised by The Daily Mail! This book will be the third he has co-written with Pete Walker; their previous efforts being two biographies of John Barry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He joined the Internet Movie Data-base (<strong><a title=\"Internet Movie Database\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\">www.imdb.com<\/a><\/strong>) as a data-manager in 2001 and looked after biographies, composers and the music-department, amongst other tasks. Geoff retired after nine years loyal service in order to continue writing. Geoff has been running the <strong><a title=\"John Barry - The Man With the Midas Touch\" href=\"http:\/\/www.johnbarry.org.uk\">John Barry website<\/a><\/strong> since June 18, 2001, and also websites dedicated to <strong><a title=\"Adam Faith website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.adamfaith.org.uk\">Adam Faith<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rongrainer.org.uk\">Ron Grainer<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfarnonsociety.org.uk\">Robert Farnon<\/a><\/strong> &amp; <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mattmonro.org.uk\">Matt Monro<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Geoff has never learned to drive but is keen on photography and watching sport, especially Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, where he is a life member.
