él Records, a division of Cherry Red, has two John Barry-related items due for release on August 19th. There are some corrections being made to the final track listing on the first of the CDs, John Barry  Plays 007 & Other 60s Themes for Film & Television, but the tracks will include:

1. From Russia With Love
2. 007
3. The Elizabeth Theme
4. The London Theme
5. The Loneliness Of Autumn
6. Aliki
7. Fancy Dance
8. Kinky
9. Ngenzeni
10. Tetha Leyanto
11. Monkey Feathers
12. Big Shield
13. The James Bond Theme - Stereo
14. The James Bond Theme – Mono (7” Single Version)
15. The James Bond Theme – Mono (Film Version)
16. Lovers and Browning
17. London Theme – Jazz Waltz
18. Main Title Theme - Isandhlwana, 1879
19. News of The Massacre - Rorke's Drift Threatened
20. Four In The Morning
21. Main Title - Beat Girl
22. It's Legal (Vocal - Shirley Anne Field) From Beat Girl)
23. Hit & Miss
24. Easy Beat
25. Saturday's Child
26. A Matter Of Who
27. Never Let Go
28. The Time Has Come (Adam Faith) (From What A Whopper!)

30. The Lolly Theme
31. The Magnificent Seven
32. Rocco's Theme (From Rocco & His Brothers)
3. Spinnerree
34. Theme From The Roman Spring Of Mrs Stone

This is an interesting combination of tracks from both EMI & Ember, and it’s quite rare to see this released on one CD compilation. The second CD, a 2-disc affair, contains a reissue of Fool Britannia, the UK release of which was supervised, by Barry, and was a major hit at the time of its original vinyl release in 1963, plus the two tracks by Miss X, produced by Barry. Also included is Anthony Newley & Leslie Bricusse’s Stop the World, I Want To Get Off album, selections from the film soundtrack of Scandal (1989) plus a few tracks from the highly regarded satirical BBC TV series, That Was The Week That Was, from 1962/3.

John Barry Plays 007 & Other 60s Themes for Film & TelevisionJust when you thought there couldn't be any more re-releases:

11. MONKEY FEATHERS (INSPIRED BY ZULU)
12. BIG SHIELD (FROM ZULU)
All above were "inspired" by Zulu.

Nothing to do with John Barry!

32. THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN
From the film of the same name.

Update

We are trying to gauge likely support for a Kickstarter Campaign to raise funds for a new recording of John Barry's TV Scores by Nic Raine and James Fitzpatrick.

We would need £15,000 and Tadlow music would provide the other half.

We would like to be assured that there is a reasonable chance of support for such a campaign before launching it.

So if you are *likely* to contribute, please visit this Facebook page. (This is a Facebook page link to the poll itself.)
