The Cool MikadoFirst CD release for "The Cool Mikado". "The Legendary el Records Returns To celebrate the forthcoming reactivation of el records, the label is pleased to be instigating a programme to re-release authentic, stylish, highly regarded and long deleted original film soundtracks from the sixties beginning with Michael Winner's 1962 Gilbert & Sullivan film parody 'The Cool Mikado' (ACME 34CD).

The soundtrack features original music by the John Barry Seven, songs performed in characteristic style by Frankie Howerd and comic sketches involving Tommy Cooper, Mike & Bernie Winters, Pete Murray and Stubby Kaye.

Initially released on Parlophone, has been deleted almost four decades and is a highly prized collectors item with original copies (if they can be found at all) fetching in excess of £100.

Therefore, this stylish re-issue of 'The Cool Mikado' is sure to be welcomed by film buffs, el aficionados and (indeed) the record-buying public alike.

The cd is available through the online ordering service on the Cherryred website.

It is of course available in all good record shops as well (information provided by Cherryred).

For those interested, sleeves and tracks list for THE IPCRESS FILE and MASQUERADE are now on the Silva Screen web-site, although the IPCRESS FILE is not quite correct as the dialogue tracks are not as yet listed. James Fitzp.

"Don't support this release, wait until the SILVA CD of IPCRESS FILE comes out. And maybe in two or three years someone will be able to revisit BILLION DOLLAR BRAIN." Ford A. Thaxton.
